Truly Black Sunday

Dale Earnhardt Tribute
A Special Editorial Sorrow

Socrates once said: "The unexamined life isn't worth living". In sudden death, we're fortunate if our life measure's up to who we were when we were alive. Dale's did.

A Good Witness:
Dale's dashboard on Sunday, Feb 18 wore the following verse:
"The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it, and they are saved." Proverbs 18:10 NIV

From Stevie Waltrip to Dale every week,
a scripture card adorned his dash, that was Stevie's "job". It's my understanding that after the funeral, the team presented Darrell and Stevie with a scrapbook of all the scripture cards they had saved from the cars from week to week.

There was no doubt Dale was a Christian. He may not have peppered his speech with it all the time publicly and his speech WAS "colorful" at times but he lived his Christian life with the spirit God blessed him with. Dale was quoted once on his priorities: "God first, Family second, then business." Priorities like that will bless anyone!

The Ultimate Gift, or The Four Spiritual Laws
Becoming a Christian is not a weakness but the ultimate strength. Eternity is longer than the life on this earth. Wonder what it is that most racers have behind their courage and spirit?
Faith and Trust in the Lord.
